| International students staying in Japan for more than three months are required to enroll in National Health Insurance. When you visit a medical institution for illness or injury, presenting your health insurance card reduces your out-of-pocket medical expenses. After arriving in Japan, please complete resident registration and the insurance enrollment procedure at your local municipal office as soon as possible. | International students must obtain permission from the Immigration Services Agency before doing part-time work. Working without permission is not allowed. During regular class periods, part-time work is limited to 28 hours per week. During long school vacations, work may be permitted up to 8 hours per day. Work in adult entertainment-related businesses such as pachinko parlors, mahjong parlors, and entertainment restaurants is prohibited. Please give priority to study and follow Japanese law and school rules. |
